The Registration Council for Dog Training and Behaviour Practitioners is a United Kingdom-based organisation set up to promote and develop high standards in all aspects of training dogs and the modification of their behaviour. It aims to improve dog welfare, protect the public and develop the understanding of the dog/human bond.

Membership is open to all dog trainers, instructors, behaviour practitioners, training associations, associated course providers and other membership based interest groups whose prime function is focused on dog training and behaviour.

The Council has been set up to manage the Register of Signatories to the Code of Practice agreed by all those involved in the Companion Animal Welfare Council’s meetings of those involved in the sector and will also:

• Support participating organisations, their respective members and individual Dog Trainers, Instructors and Behaviour Practitioners.
• Become the organisation available to offer unbiased and impartial advice on all aspects of dog training and modification of behaviour.

These objectives will be achieved through our member organisations.

The RCDTBP (or Registration Council for Dog Training and Behaviour Practitioners) is a transparent and collaborative organisation with access to a vast pool of knowledge for the media, the public and research organisations.
